I’ve received no less than five lovely emails in the last week asking me where my outfit shots have gone! My every day style is a little less fabulous than a few years ago because my life is well… dirtier now and I’m not sure if you all want to see my studio outfits but lets try it and see shall we? Here is what I wore to the studio, the post office and all afternoon as I sketched and wrote…
* Dress from DFO in Melbourne.
* Tights are actually thermal marino underwear from Big W. I wear them as tights and they are so toasty.
* Boots from Shoo Biz.
* Scarf Smaggle made – You can learn to make one here.
* Cardigan from Country Road.
It’s also hideously freezing here in Melbourne so most of my outfits are covered in jackets and scarves. I can’t wait for cardigan weather…
Oh and please let me know if you want more outfit shots of the work/studio persuasion.

Spent the day sewing tiny leather ruffles for my latest jewellery collection. Have you ever hand-sewn leather for six hours straight? My fingers really, really hurt.
* Dress from Tree of Life (I’ve really been feeling the 80’s side knot thing recently but in a more Botticelli kind of way…)
* Skirt from Cotton On
* Cardigan from Dotti
* Tights from my ballet days
* Shoes, Doc Martens from Melbourne DFO
* Scarf from markets in Paris
* Earrings from Diva
Have a beautiful day my lovely ones!

Crazy life at the moment. Awesome but manic. Very ready for a relaxing weekend with my family back home…
* Skirt from Big W
* Tights from Coles
* Top Singlet from Supre
* Leather Jacket from Target
* Long sleeved t-shirt from Myer
* Boots from Joanne Mercer
* Earrings from Girlprops
* Scarf Smaggle made – stay tuned for a DIY
And a massive thank you to all my readers who commented on my last post. I had the most fun reading the responses of my close friends. They were all so accurate and so appropriate. They literally listed the reasons that I love them. Self awareness is so golden.

I’ve got this whole dressing like a cream-puff thing going on. I kind of like it… Note to self. Buy more ballet tights.
* Denim skirt from Ebay someone has drawn on it in permanent marker it says ‘The missing link is moving underground’. Love it.
* Top/dress from Tree of Life
* Ballet tights from my dancin’ days
* Nude flats from Trennery
* Men’s watch from Fossil
I’m also feeling a really clean, no jewellery vibe at the moment which is rare for me. I love personal fashion flux! Spending the morning designing then I have a fundraising auction on tonight. I’ve got a good feeling about today… not sure why!

Spent the morning chatting to Mamma Smaggle on the phone, eating pineapple, designing jewels and sprawling on my bed reading magazines. I spent the afternoon with my best gal drinking coffee, shopping and eating dinner at our favourite restaurant. Utterly delicious day.
* Dress from Metalicus – Best purchase. Ever.
* Cardigan from Supre
* Waist tie from a different Metalicus dress
* My old ballet tights from when I was fifteen. God only knows why I kept them but they are totally my new winter tights colour. Perfect with this seasons nude tones.
* Nude flats from Trennery
* Coin necklace from Poppy Smaggle
* Earrings by Bouvier from Bijoux
And thank you all so much for your amazing responses to my last Can I get a Consensus – Are You Self Conscious About Your Height post. A number of you have commented that 5′8 isn’t unusually tall and you’re totally right. What I meant was that at 5′8 I’m unusually tall around my 5′6 friends. I’m also so pleased to hear that most people don’t really care about their height and wear heels as they please or for a specific event. Also, for the record, I don’t walk around everyday feeling like a giant. It’s more when I see myself in photos where all my friend’s heads are in line with my breasts that I realise how much taller I am than them. Especially with my love of heels! I also loved the comment from Jay about how she feels sexy when she’s slightly taller than a man… I agree!

I’ve had these jeans for around ten years but I’ve been wearing them more than I ever have recently because they fit much looser and are now in the elusive ‘boyfriend jean’ category. They are also hideously comfortable. Wearing them to work is slightly hazardous though as my special needs students are very sensory and like to stick their hands in all the holes… awkward.
* Jeans from Cotton On circa 2001
* Singlet top from Supre
* Cardigan from Dotti (super bargain – $30 and 100% cotton. I’m such a sucker for natural fibres.)
* Flats from Trennery (If you’re considering buying the Country Road flats but the toe cleavage is too much for you try the Trennery ones. They have a much more modest cut at the toe. I’ve serious problems with excessive toe cleavage. More so than excessive breast cleavage.)
* Scarf from Country Road
I’m off to a night course at my school to learn how to set gems. Terribly exciting…

P.S Trend rocking much? Hello nude flats, boyfriend jeans, sailor stripes, over-sized scarves. I should just stand in the window at Sportsgirl…

This morning I got up, went straight to the gym, did my washing, cleaned the house, cleaned out my tool box, went shopping and did my homework. On days like this I want to kick my own arse for being such a nerd…
* Dress from Metalicus
* Shoes from Trenery (I was such a grown up when I bought these last week I took them immediately to be rubber soled and waterproofed. Go Grandma Smaggle!)
* Cardigan from Harem on Brunswick Street
* Coin necklace from Poppy Smaggle
* Earrings from Girlprops
I’ve been wanting a dress like this for ages so I let myself buy it yesterday. I will be eating baked beans for the rest of the month… but who cares? I look like a vanilla soft serve cone!
How was your weekend poppet?
