I’m back at work today after a week off so it’s been rather hectic around here. This afternoon I’m off to the gym and then it’s home to organise invitations for the hen’s night of the charming lass that I’m bridesmaid for later this year. I’m starting to get really excited about it!

It’s really weird, because I’m not a terribly sentimental kind of girl, but for some reason whenever Mr Smaggle goes overseas I always wear jewellery that he has given me while he is away. I guess instead of crying myself to sleep in the foetal position I express the fact that I miss him in a way more materialistic way. How very Smaggle of me…

Taking my daily outfit shots for this blog has made me realise what a creature of habit I am. Some of you may have noticed that almost all of my daily outfit shots are taken in the same place with a blue wall for the back ground. This is the area right outside my office and every week day at 3.30pm Browny (my work mate) and I trot outside to take my daily outfit shot and then I quickly upload the photo while drinking my afternoon coffee. I ALWAYS forget to take my outfit shots when I am not at work. When Browny isn’t around, taking my daily outfit shot is a real pain in the arse. I have Browny all trained up - she takes a damn good photo and does it quickly and quietly and with out any fuss. If I ask Mama Smaggle (who is rather on the short side) I look stumpy in the photos and the light is always bad because it’s too late in the day. If I ask my darling Mr Smaggle it turns into hours of finding just the right light and angle and despite the fact I end up with a gorgeous photo at the end of it all I have serious guilt about aggravating his photography OCD on a daily basis. It’s not just my outfit shots that suffer when I am away from work. When on holidays I rarely go to the gym, I never drink enough water and I always forget to eat my fruit. Unfortunately I’m back at work tomorrow so the blue wall will be back and so will my healthy routine. Until then, here are two outfits that I have worn in the past week. I wore this last Tuesday on a date with my mum. We went to see The Visitor (which was beautiful) and had lunch out. It was quite a splendid day.

Today I slept in for the first time in weeks. I have been a little bit on the naughty side in the past week going to bed in the wee hours so my body needed a serious catch up. Today I did all kinds of things on my to do list - filled my car with petrol, took four jackets to the dry cleaners, went to the chemist and the post office and did a little thrifting. I then had a sushi lunch with Mama Smaggle and I just spent the afternoon reading books in the bath. This evening I plan on making jewellery and working some more DIY posts for Smaggle… stay tuned!

Argh! I’m so busy! Work was so out of control that I’m sitting at my desk at 5.50pm on a Friday afternoon. Why the hell don’t I have a cocktail in my hand? I’m just about to leave and meet Mr Smaggle to buy him some pants for his work trip overseas. I love shopping with him because he is so long and lean that everything looks incredible on him. Then I’m going to snuggle down on the couch with a cup of tea and the new Frankie magazine… I’m feeling blissed out just thinking about it!

* Skirt (worn as dress) from my delightful friend Jordan. She was cleaning out her cupboard this week and found this gorgeous wrap skirt that she has never worn and thought I might like it. Hell yeah! I get that it looks like an evening gown and thus should probably not be worn to work but I don’t care. I think it’s freakin’ gorgeous and it’s made me feel like a queen all day!

Oh and here’s a little something for you to think about. I’ve been pondering about this whole airport extravaganza where they take nuts, seeds and plant matter away from you at quarantine so you don’t bring diseases into their country. I totally understand this and I’m fastidious about declaring EVERYTHING when I travel because I really don’t want the blood of the economical destruction of a foreign country on my hands but what happens if you eat the rogue nuts, seeds or plant matter and then do a big poo outdoors? What would happen then? It’s not like they can police this. And don’t get all precious on me. We’ve all done number twos outside… especially when travelling.

Today was super busy again but I am just about to leave and go out to the theatre with Mr Smaggle and some friends to see Phillipe Genty. The shows travel all around the world so if you get the chance to see one I highly recommend it because his work is incredible.

I had the most bizarre experience today. I have had the same best friend for 15 years (since I was 9 years old) and her family have become my family. I saw her dad today for the first time in a few months and he has shaved his whole beard off and I’m shocked to discover that he actually has a face. It was so jarring - like he has been wearing a mask for 15 years. He said I was wearing Collingwood colours… I assume he meant a football team.

Well I finally made my decision and I have to say that I’m relieved. What happened was there was a big crazy mix up with a few auditions that I went to and I ended up being cast in two plays at the same time which means I can’t do both so I have to pick one over the other. The real problem is that both of the parts are bloody incredible. One was Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and the other was Cherry in Cosi. It seriously felt like Sophie’s Choice. Anyways I have decided to go with Cherry simply because she is younger. I can play Ratched until I’m a grandma but I’ll outgrow Cherry when I’m about thirty. That meant calling the other director and saying no to my beloved Ratched… that’s why I’m wearing all black. I’m in mourning.

Whoa! Today was out of control. I managed to squeeze two days worth of work in to one day (because I was sick yesterday) and even managed to make it to a hellish spin class at lunch time. This afternoon I’m off to a friend’s house for coffee and then I’m going home to eat dinner with the Smaggles.

Oh and today I have to make a really awful decision. I can’t discuss the details (yet) but the scenario is kind of like this - You can either have sex with Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt - but not both. They are equally fantastic in bed and if you pick one over the other you will regret it for the rest of your life. Mwah ha ha ha!

Then I made Sung Choi Bao and had a date with Mr Smaggle. Delightful! This afternoon I’m racing off to a spin class and then I’m going home to paint my nails.

Today was, as usual, super crazy and busy. I went to an awesome Pump class at lunch time that I actually enjoyed… it was rather bizarre. I think it’s because the instructor is so gorgeous and I like to pretend that she’s my best friend. This afternoon I’m off to a bridesmaids meeting to talk about the hen’s night, dresses, make-up and flowers. Our boy bridesmaid (the bridesmate) will be there too but we’ll buy him beer so he doesn’t get too bored. And then this evening I’m off to a friends house for dinner! And I’m spicing up the photos again… I know I look a little deranged but we all need a rest from my sullen model-like poses…

I had another crazy busy day today. I ran straight from work to a craft shop to pick up some last minute things for my application. Hopefully I can post it tomorrow.
