Today I went to work after a lovely long weekend. Then I went op-shopping after work and later tonight I have rehearsal. Today was an excellent day because a job I had a year ago just randomly paid me some money and Browny and I shared a delicious orange this afternoon. And my mum is about to cook me a delicious stir-fry for dinner…
- Black and white checked skirt from Big W
- White ruffled mens dinner shirt from Dangerfield
- Black opaques from Myer
- Brown boots from RedPath
- Black rose ring gift from Baldren
- Silver hoop earrings from Bijoux
- Aviators
Karl Lagerfeld was today’s outfit inspiration…

Today I cleaned out my car and my bedroom for the first day of October. Then I went to see a movie called The Jammed which was great. I highly recommend it because it’s really engaging and I think it’s important to support the Australian film industry. I also got my first comment on my site today about my post on Zara in Australia! Except I think I accidentally deleted it so sorry to Daniel and thank you for commenting. Today I wore -
- Black dress from Felt
- Black shrug from SES
- Teal Opaques from Myer
- Black flats from Zu
- Blue scarf from Sportsgirl
- Black rose ring gift from Baldren
- Aviators
I got a strange comment from a butcher today. He asked me how my night out was last night. When I questioned him he said I looked like I just came home from a night on the town. I think he was trying to be complimentary by saying that I looked nice but it was odd because what I was wearing was not exactly ‘night out on the town’ attire and also people usually look like crap when wearing the previous nights attire after being out until the wee small hours. Anyway he was a lovely guy and I took what he said as compliment however strange it might have come out.
I then bought Australian In Style Magazine

And I plan to read it while my brother puts fun music on my puty! I don’t normally read In Style but I can’t resist Gwen.

I’m not so much fascinated by the fact that these girls were millionaires before they could use a proper toilet but more by the fact they are so small. It is amazing to me that Mary-Kate can wear Balenciaga bricks on her feet and still barely skim the shoulder of anyone she is standing next to. She is tiny. Those extra large Starbucks drinks aren’t really that big she just makes them look like novelty toys. I have to admit I do love Mary-Kate’s shaggy/homeless look but when I try to wear oversized jumpers and shawls I look like a massive sherpa carrying a wounded goat on her back. I was gloating in my head a few moments ago thinking ‘Yeah well she’s so short she’d look really stupid in a long dress’. Then I found this photo. I stand corrected.

Diana Vreeland - she is magnificent. I recently purchased a turban on Ebay that I plan to wear to my bizarre fashion party on Saturday. My fellow fashion addicts would swear that said turban was purchased in emulation of the Prada 07 collection but let me assure you this is not so. My turban was purchased after reading every single Diana Vreeland book I could lay my hands on (Amazon - I am still really angry at you) and staring in utter amazement at how commandingly elegant Diana is. And look at all her bangles! And her long long nails! I never thought anyone could make smoking look so cool (it’s not cool though so don’t do it). She is ever poignant stating that without emotion, there is no beauty and living her life surrounded by splendour despite not being able to afford it. She died in 1989 from ambiguous health complications. The title of this post were her last words.

I found these photos today on uN NOUvEAU iDEAL - (This guy is fabulous! Read his site his story is amazing.)
These photos are for W magazine and I love seeing Kate Moss looking like this. My hair is cut really similar to this at the moment and I am having to stop myself from dyeing my hair platinum blonde, shaving my eyebrows and starving myself while wearing enough bangles to stock Diva. Actually I was already tempted to shave my eyebrows after seeing La Vie En Rose - damn these influential images seducing me to kill my own face! I am completely addicted to these theatrical looks at the moment. I was observing the other day that most girls around town make some sort of an effort with their clothing. It’s pretty easy to look somewhat trendy these days so it’s becoming harder to stand out in the crowd in terms of your clothing. I love seeing girls making an effort with their make up and hair and I’m not talking about mascara and a brush people! I’m talking bright red lips in the middle of the day and massive teased hair with ribbons and clips and dramatic eye make up and false eyelashes. I saw the most beautifully groomed girl the other day with a perfect 1950s dress and heels and her hair all in pin-curls. She also had a massive sailor tattoo with roses and hearts right across her chest… how splendid.
