The Wild Legs of Anna Sui

Starting from now I’m going to stop saying that ‘I’m not much of a runway girl.’ It’s clearly a lie considering how long I spend on Style.com and how often I try to scab looks from designer shows. Anna Sui’s Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear collection is STUNNING! Damn I love that girl…

Is anyone as excited as I am about the resurgence of PATTERNED TIGHTS? When I was about ten years old my auntie Janice gave me three pairs of patterned tights for my birthday. I had a mulit-coloured tye-died pair, a black pair with daisies all over them (my favourite) and an awesome black pair with spider webs on them. I literally wore them to death. In fact I believe that I wore the daisies underneath denim shorts. The coolness of me is astounding sometimes…

And remember about a week ago when I said that Princess Leia buns were a cute thing to wear? What about a Princess Leia head band? How elfin and other-worldly is this girl? I just want to fly to Saturn and frolic with her in a purple meadow and ride unicorns…

I’m off to find me some patterned tights! I really really really want some red and blue Japanese print ones to go with my bangles… wish me luck!

I’m totally with you on the patterned tights thing. I know this doesn’t help your non-Canberra readers much, but I found some gorgeous Leona Edmiston tights at brand depot for cheap! They’re in the bonds outlet store, at the counter.

Yep, I’m sooooo with you re patterned tights. I’ve been looking for some on ebay but can’t find the ones I want! I love this collection too, it’s such a mish-mash of 1930’s, bohemian and mod with a modern twist – perfect!

Emma – cool love thanks for the tip! I usually can’t stand Brand Depo but I might brave it for the sake of coloured tights!

Ivy – I know! I’m so excited. I especially love them with longer skirts. So feminine!

i don’t know whether it would be pointless to even try it, but do you think one could paint one’s own tights with fabric paint or similar? I suppose if you were really good with embroidery you could embroider or like, cover tights with sequins or something which would be cool. I really love these tights! and I don’t generally wear them, so it’s saying something.

Na – There has actually a lot of gradient dying going on in other blogs at the moment and it seems to work quite well. Not sure about painting because then you may not be able to wash them. Also if it’s fabric paint it might crack when you try to pull them on.
