Tagged!

The delicious L over at strike-match has tagged me in the music meme. I’ll admit I’m not actually much of a music gal. I know that’s really weird but I’m still stuck on Michael Jackson’s ‘Dangerous‘ and Madonna’s ‘Imacculate Collection’  being the best albums of all time and I’m clearly having issues getting past that. If you don’t count musical and movie soundtracks I own very few albums by actual musicians. I’ve recently been introduced to Triple J which is an Indie Australia wide radio station. Browny, my work mate, does not function without Triple J so it plays in our office for 8 hours a day. Here are a few songs that I just can’t help singing along to…

* Kids by MGMT

* Going On by Gnarls Barkley

* Jimmy Recard by Drapht - I freakin LOVE this song. It’s about a guy called Paul who thinks his life would be so much cooler if he was called Jimmy Recard.

Dave’s Party, most beautiful Girl in the Room by Flight of the Conchords

* Wasted by Angus and Julia Stone

* I like Giants by Kimya Dawson

* Gobbledigook by Sigur Ros

I didn’t even know the names or artists of any of the above songs. I’d say ‘Hey Browny you know that song that goes - ner ner ner, ner ner, ner ner ner, NER NER!’ and from my terrible melody she would figure out what song I meant, find it on YouTube and email me the link. She is the best Browny in the world.

And the other tag was to reveal 7 uninteresting facts about myself. As I’m feeling rather unspectacular today I figure I might as well comply -

1. I have the ability to stop conversations dead in their tracks. I’m ALWAYS the last person to speak before a long silence. I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve managed to offend everyone or if it’s because what I’ve said is so stupid that it doesn’t warrant a response but somehow I always manage to say something really loudly in a large group of people leaving only stunned silence in my wake.

2. My middle name is Ann.

3. I shaved off half my eyebrow when I was 11. I just wanted to see if the razor was working. It was.

4. I’m a Tupperware fiend. I pack my lunch everyday and I have hundreds of little containers with my food all prepared inside.

5. I’ve had three cars in my life called Chloe, Aksel and Panda. They were green, white and silver respectively. The green one was my favourite because Daddy Smaggle painted yellow roses on it and bought yellow car seat covers for me. It was awesome.

6. I can’t handle fruit in savoury meat dishes. Like pineapple on pizza or raisins in curry. In the first few months that Mr Smaggle and I were dating he was romantically feeding me appetisers at a theatre opening. He popped some proscuito wrapped melon in my mouth and was horrified when I spat it back out and started dry-retching. He’s learnt his lesson.

7. I’m a hard-core list maker and diary keeper. In fact O.C.D is probably the real reason that I started blogging.

I think most people have done this but if my readers want to have a go feel free to do so in the comments section!

Love Lady Smaggle

    Yay! You did it.

    I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks fruit in savoury dishes is gross. What is with everyone liking Hawaiian pizza and also with Lenard’s having sultanas in all their curries?

    Hi!
    You’re hilarious, I read a few of your entries, and at the risk of sounding creepy, I feel the need to tell you that I really like you! It was lovely to meet you today- thank you for buying a singlet, I hope you enjoy wearing it in lovely Melbourne. I’m about to put some photos of my other ones, and some paintings up on my Facebook, so check it out. Anyway- just wanted to check out your site. Have a good night! Meg.

    Your list was making me laugh out loud. I once cut my sister’s bangs with a pair of pinking shears just to see if they would work. They did.

    LOL!! I shaved of 1/2 my brow as well, don’t remember how old I was but it was most likely around the same age. It took what seemed like forever to grow back. I can’t remember why I did it. I’m thinking it had something to do with trying to get them in a proper shape and it took a bad turn. Btw, I love your tights necklace, very creative indeed!!

    girl you seriously need to move on from Dangerous and the IC - brilliant as the albums may be, the creepier MJ & Mads get the more you need to find a new fave record… but I am totally with you on the fruit and meat thing - I have been indelibly scarred by apricot chicken. *shudder*

    Smaggle Ann is an adorable name!

  7. Lady Smaggle

    Lauren - Twas good fun! Although music usually scares me.

    Meg Morton - It was lovely to meet you too! And I love my singlet.

    Sally Jane - ha ha! I think we should start testing sharp devices on places other than the human body.

    Jocelyne - Mine too! I think my right one is a little thinner than the left.

    Fifi - I know I need to move on. I’m trying. Apricot Chicken… I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

    YB - Ha ha yes Smaggle Ann is quite adorable!

    I also own The Immaculate Collection and listen to it over and over again. Also love listening to Micheal Jackson’s old hits! So, you’re not the only one, haha.

Say Something!
